Principal, Kelmar Consulting LLC

Kelli Matthew is a principal with Kelmar Consulting LLC. She brings over 30 years of experience as a client service professional and senior administrative leader to her engagements. Kelli assists senior business leaders with the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and operating plans while enhancing their workplace cultures. She has often been tapped to lead in a newly-created role within an organization. Her expertise in building infrastructure and expansion of service firms includes financial and human resources management, process design and improvement, and service delivery methodology. 

As Chief Human Resources Officer at Clark Hill, she advised the senior management of the firm on strategic and operating decisions as the law firm more than doubled in size. She developed and managed new processes for the human resources function including lateral recruiting, performance evaluation, career development, mentoring, member admission, on-boarding and new hire integration. Kelli launched a diversity and inclusion initiative which culminated in the establishment of a new firm committee. She advised on firm benefit plans and managed the attorney compensation process. Kelli was also responsible for the design and delivery of new continuous learning opportunities for members and staff alike on behavioral interviewing, business development, human resources topics, client service and communications, and mentoring. 

Prior to joining Clark Hill, Kelli was Conway Mackenzie’s first Director of Operations. She held this position as the firm began an aggressive expansion process. She also served as Director of Division Operations for the Michigan Assurance Practice of Andersen LLP and was the Detroit office’s first Director of Continuous Improvement. Kelli previously served health care and manufacturing clients as a consultant and assurance senior with Ernst & Young. 

A native of Michigan, Kelli has been involved in several community efforts throughout the Metropolitan Detroit area, including holding key leadership positions and developing new processes and programs for local nonprofit organizations. She chaired a large parish finance committee, facilitated efforts to build a volunteer network to serve people with HIV and implemented improvements as a member of a municipal transition team. Kelli currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Vision Research ROPARD Foundation, the Social Entrepreneur and Gala Committees of HAVEN of Oakland County, and the St. Joan of Arc Finance and Haiti Ministry Committees. 

Kelli holds a Master of Business Administration from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Management from Albion College.
